Each year, a group exhibition by DNA3 students from ESAL Épinal is held at the Lune en Parachute. The 2023 edition, entitled “Z.A.T”, an acronym for “Zone à Témoignages” (meaning “testimonials area”) had for theme “borders”.
It was an opportunity for me to delve into my father’s family history.
The final project gave birth to an installation that allowed visitors to discover an editorial and sound work on the story of my father, a “family refugee” who fled Argentina at the age of 20.
La carne pegada al hueso, no hay nada más rico que eso is a look back at my father’s childhood and mine, at our family and at this history in which I struggle to find my place, but from which I am nevertheless heir. Family story, trans-generational story, intimate story… that takes place in the more official but also darker history of the dictatorship in Argentina.
By going back and forth between texts I have written myself, archives belonging to him (passports, family photographs, etc.) and audio stories about his youth, I try to pass on these tales I know by heart and that lulled my childhood.
